Portrait of a Graduate

Through prayer and commitment, we strive to guide our students to be a radiant light for Jesus in every part of their lives. We expect them to graduate with the following qualities:

“I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you. ”

Daniel 5:14

The Learning Experience

Academic Structure

Students are grouped into two academic cohorts—lower elementary (K–3) and upper elementary (4–6)—and are assigned a homeroom teacher. Both cohorts share one large learning environment, allowing students to interact and learn together at various times throughout the day while also benefiting from age-appropriate instruction during academic blocks.

Our blended learning model combines the excellence of BJU Press Christian Classroom Online with the instruction and support of our classroom teachers, providing students with a highly personalized learning experience.

Teaching and Learning

We are intentional about developing critical thinking skills and cultivating self-directed learners. Through rich classroom discussions, collaborative projects, hands-on learning experiences, and individualized instruction, students learn to think deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and become confident, self-directed learners.

Radiant Christian School uses the academically rigorous and biblically sound BJU Press curriculum for grades K–6. Students receive high-quality video instruction in English, Reading, and Math from certified BJU Press teachers. Our classroom teachers provide engaging and rigorous instruction in Science, Social Studies, and Writing, supplementing the BJU Press curriculum with a variety of high-quality educational resources that support student learning and enrich the classroom experience.

During the Math and Language Arts blocks, students work through self-paced video lessons while teachers provide individualized instruction and support. Flexible seating options support a variety of learning styles and create opportunities for students to work independently and comfortably. When students complete their video lessons, learning doesn’t stop. Teachers provide extension activities designed to deepen understanding and encourage students to pursue their interests beyond the curriculum.

Daily enrichment is also an integral part of the Radiant experience. Enrichment classes bring students from both academic cohorts together, providing opportunities for students of different ages to learn and explore together.

At-Home Learning Days

At-home learning days are intentionally designed to complement and reinforce the learning taking place on campus. Classroom teachers assign lessons, classwork, and enrichment activities that support and enrich the learning experience.

The structured and easy-to-follow BJU Press Christian Classroom Online platform makes at-home learning both effective and manageable for families.

Families receive all curriculum materials needed for the year from the school, including textbooks, worktexts, and online access.

Spiritual Formation

At Radiant Christian School, we believe education is about more than academic excellence—it is about shaping hearts and minds for the glory of God. Our Christ-centered approach is woven throughout the entire school day as students are encouraged to grow in wisdom, character, and faith.

Scripture and a biblical worldview are thoughtfully integrated across academic subjects and enrichment classes, helping students understand that all truth is God’s truth. Daily chapel is a treasured part of our school day and provides opportunities for worship, prayer, biblical teaching, and spiritual growth.

We intentionally nurture a culture of prayer and welcome spontaneous opportunities to pray together and minister individually to students through prayer as needs arise.
